Turkish Neurosurgical Board Examination

The first of Turkish Neurosurgical Board Examination Part I will be held in this course. Part I examination (multiple choice questions) is open to all IBNC attandees who completed two courses. The attandees who pass the first examination will be able to take Examination Part II (oral).

Part I examination consists of 100 multiple choice questions covering neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neurology, neuropathology, neuroradiology, fundamental neurosurgical skills, neurooncology, neurovascular, spinal surgery, functional neurosurgery, pediatric neurosurgery and neurotrauma.

The part I examination is free.

IBNC attandees who want to apply the examination must send a mail to before February 27, 2019.

Those who pass two examinations will get Turkish Neurosurgical Diploma, which certifies a high level of neurosurgical knowledge.

Turkish Neurosurgical Board Examination will be held on 9 March from 11:00-12:30.

*Turkish Neurosurgical Diploma does not grant a right to have work permit in Turkey.


The Oral Examination is the second and final of the Turkish Board Examination in Neurological Surgery.

Successful candidates will receive a certificate of success from Turkish Neurosurgical Society

This will certify that the candidate has achieved a good level of education in theory and practice of neurosurgery. It will not constitute a licence to practice neurosurgery in Turkey.

The examination will take place in October 2019 and its application fee is 200 USD.

The exam will be station based and will consist of Vascular, Pediatric, Neuro-oncology, Functional, and Spinal section stations.

Candidates will start from one of the stations and will have 10 minutes to answer questions in each station.

After this period, candidate will move to the next station and will answer oral questions of the examination faculty in that station.

Examination faculty will consist of two experienced neurosurgeons in each station. Candidates will collect points from each station and a total score will be calculated for each candidate.

Candidate who receive a passing score will get the success certificate

Requirements for Oral Examination

Evidence that the Part I Examination has been passed (place and date will be required).

Please note that candidates are required to enroll and sit the Part II Examination within 5 years of passing the Part I Examination.

If the time since the Part I examination is more than 5 years, candidate will be required to sit for a new Part I examination before applying to the Part II.

Licence to practice neurosurgery: a copy of this licence must be forwarded for inspection. Part II examination is open for ONLY candidates who has completed his/her neurosurgical training.
